OSEC Update

From Board President Mike Videmsek

There are some changes at the Old Stone Education Center (OSEC) that I would like to share with you on behalf of the Board of Directors. Marc Nathanson, our Executive Director, will be leaving OSEC in August. Marc has done a fantastic job for OSEC and we are deeply grateful for his outstanding leadership and accomplishments. We wish him well in his new position of Executive Director of the West Side Catholic Center.

Lisa Cotten will temporarily step away from her Board of Director’s responsibility as Vice President and assume the interim role of Executive Director. The Board has commissioned a search committee to find OSEC’s new Executive Director and they are making excellent progress. If you are interested in finding out more about what we are looking for in an Executive Director, please see the job description and search details posted here on our web site.

We will continue to keep you informed about this transition and new opportunities for our organization. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me at michael@oldstoneeducationcenter.org, (216)361-5230 or Lisa at lisa@oldstoneeducationcenter.org, (216)363-6476. We welcome your calls and feedback.

You have my commitment, both personally and on behalf of the Board, to continue to strive to fulfill the mission of OSEC during this transition. Your ongoing belief in OSEC and our work to improve the lives of women in greater Cleveland is deeply appreciated.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater ClevelandIn February 2009, in partnership with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland, we have been offering a Big Sister/Mentoring Program to our students with area volunteers. The goal is to match students with area women who want to make a difference in a family’s life. Our hope is that by providing a positive role model in our student’s lives, they will understand the correlation between attitude, attendance, education, and success!
